Gate-area cash fix in Terminal 1
Just past security in Terminal 1, ATM Zone covers the basics: cash withdrawals in PLN, plus standard card services. You’ll find the machines along the main departures corridor used for Schengen flights, an easy stop if your card doesn’t tap cleanly at smaller Polish cafés or taxis. Limits and fees depend on your own bank, but the machines support the usual Visa and Mastercard networks.
The machines run 24/7, which helps for those 05:45 departures to Warsaw or late evening arrivals from London. Screens offer English and Polish as default, with a few extra European language options on some units. Withdrawal denominations are tuned to local prices, so 50 and 100 PLN notes show up often, which play nicely with city buses and ticket machines that cap change.
Dynamic currency conversion (charging you in EUR or USD instead of PLN) appears on several ATMs here; it can add a few extra percent on top of your bank’s rate. You can usually tap “charge in PLN” to dodge that markup. Cards with contactless capability sometimes trigger a tap-to-withdraw prompt, but standard chip-and-PIN works across all units in ATM Zone.
Tip: pull out a small amount here—around 100–200 PLN—then top up at a city-bank ATM in Poznań if you need more, where fees and rates are often better than at the airport.
