McDonald's

Right after security in NITB, McDonald’s is your fastest hot meal

This McDonald’s sits airside in Pune’s NITB terminal, a short walk from the central security check and main domestic gates. It runs through most flight banks, usually opening early morning around the first departures and staying open late for post-21:00 flights, so it catches the rush around IndiGo and Air India peaks. Signage is clear once you clear security; follow the food court markers rather than individual gate signs.

Pricing tracks Indian city-mall outlets, not premium “airport-only” levels: expect burgers in the ₹120–₹250 range, fries around ₹100, and meal combos landing near ₹250–₹350. You’ll see the India-standard items like McAloo Tikki, McSpicy Paneer, and Chicken Maharaja Mac, plus 10–20% higher pricing than a Pune high-street store. Card and UPI both work, which helps if you’ve already broken your last ₹500 note on the taxi in.

Food comes out fast by airport standards: during a typical evening bank (18:00–20:00), waits run 5–10 minutes for a basic burger and under 15 minutes even when a couple of flights have just deplaned. If you want something filling before a 90-minute domestic hop, the Chicken Maharaja Mac or McSpicy Paneer with fries and a soft drink usually does the job better than the smaller McAloo Tikki. Coffee and basic breakfast sandwiches start appearing after about 05:00.

Seating is limited to the shared food-court-style tables nearby, and during heavy departures around 07:00–09:00 and 18:00–21:00 it can be hard to find a free chair within 10 meters. Noise is constant because you’re close to multiple gates and boarding calls. If you only have 20 minutes before boarding starts, order to-go, walk 30–50 meters toward your gate, and eat near the waiting area.

Practical tip: lines spike right after a flight lands; if your boarding pass shows boarding in 30+ minutes, stop at McDonald’s before you wander the NITB shops so you’re not stuck behind a deplaning crowd of 30 people all ordering combos.
