Briciole Bar

Gate-side coffee and snacks before T1 security at PMO

Briciole Bar sits landside in Falcone–Borsellino’s T1 check-in hall, so you can grab something before security if you arrive early. It’s a standard Italian airport bar setup: counter service, pay at the till, then drink your espresso at the bar or take a seat for a few extra euros.

Espresso usually runs around €1.20–€1.30, with cappuccinos closer to €1.60–€2.00, in line with Palermo city pricing rather than big-hub airport premiums. You’ll see the usual cornetti, pastries, and basic sandwiches in the display case; expect simple prosciutto or mozzarella panini rather than full meals.

The bar opens early in the morning to catch the first T1 departures around 06:00 and tends to stay open through the late afternoon bank of flights. If you land after 22:00, outlets airside are limited, so this landside option can be handy when you’re waiting for the Prestia e Comandè bus into Palermo, which runs roughly every 30 minutes.

Prices are posted on the overhead boards in euros, so you can check quickly before ordering, and they accept cards plus contactless payments like Apple Pay and Google Pay. If you’re used to table service, note that ordering directly at the counter is faster and keeps the coffee in the €1–€2 range instead of the higher “al tavolo” surcharge.

Food is basic bar fare: pre-made tramezzini, packaged snacks, and sometimes arancini or focaccia if you hit a lunchtime window around 12:00–14:00. Nothing here replaces a sit-down meal in Palermo itself, but it works for a quick bite before a Ryanair or ITA Airways hop.

Practical tip: if you want a cheap, quick espresso, stand at the counter, drink it in two minutes, and then head straight to T1 security to avoid the mid-morning queues that build around 09:00.
