Duty Free

T1

PGF T1 has a “Duty Free Shop” on paper only

Perpignan–Rivesaltes Airport’s T1 terminal is so small that multiple guides, including SleepingInAirports, state there is no duty-free shopping at all. Any “Duty Free Shop” listing you see is basically a database ghost, not a real storefront you can walk to after security.

Instead of duty free in T1, you get one bar/snack area that sells basic drinks, snacks, and a few travel items under the Tribb’s branding. Reviews on AirlineQuality from international passengers specifically call out the lack of any liquor, perfume, or tobacco duty-free when departing non‑Schengen.

Regulars flying from PGF say they buy wine and spirits in town or near the Spanish border before heading to the airport. They treat PGF as a point‑to‑point shed: arrive 60–75 minutes before departure, check in, pass security, then accept that food and retail choice drops to one counter and a couple of vending machines.

Watch out if you’re connecting from a larger hub and assuming standard European duty free: PGF simply doesn’t have it, landside or airside. If you want tax‑free bottles or cosmetics, plan to pick them up at your departure hub (for example, CDG or LGW) rather than counting on Perpignan.

Tip: treat the “Duty Free Shop” entry in T1 as a map error; stock up in Perpignan supermarkets before your ride to the airport and just use the bar for a last coffee or water.
