$55 gets you into Aspire in T1, but it’s the backup lounge
In Perth T1 International, most cards push you to the Aspire Lounge, while many frequent flyers still rate the Air New Zealand lounge next door as the better pick for space and food. This Aspire sits airside in the international section of T1, so you need an outbound or international transit boarding pass to get in.
The lounge runs 24/7, which matters on those late-night Asia and Middle East departures out of T1 when terminal seating fills fast. Access works via Aspire Lounge membership, Priority Pass and similar programs, or you can walk up and buy a day pass at around $55 per person if there’s capacity.
American Express lists a strict 3-hour maximum stay here for international passengers, and reviews mention staff actually timing Priority Pass and other program entries during the evening departure bank. If your flight from T1 is delayed past that three-hour mark, reports say you can be asked to leave and wait at the gate.
FlyerTalk comparisons with the Air New Zealand International Lounge in the same terminal say ANZ wins on size and buffet quality, so set expectations at “serviceable” rather than “destination” lounge. Food typically leans to basic hot trays and snacks, decent enough for a quick pre-flight plate but not something to plan dinner around before a long-haul from T1.
Most reports out of Perth T1 say drinks at Aspire cover standard house beer and wine plus soft drinks, with spirits sometimes behind the bar. If you want anything more niche, you’ll likely end up buying it from one of the T1 bars outside and bringing your own expectations back down to earth.
Regulars with Priority Pass access to Aspire in T1 tend to time entry as late as possible before boarding so the 3-hour clock runs closer to departure. That trick matters on the midnight to 2 a.m. wave when multiple widebodies leave T1 and capacity controls kick in.
Watch out for the evening peak at Perth T1 International, roughly two to three hours before the big Middle East and Asia flights, when queues form at the Aspire check-in desk and walk-up $55 passes can be refused. Plan one thing: clear outbound immigration first, then head straight to Aspire and ask staff what time your 3-hour window ends so you’re not surprised mid-delay.
