Food follows a straightforward mainland domestic lounge pattern: expect buns, fried rice or noodles, and a couple of hot trays rotated across the day. Morning visits usually see congee and steamed mantou; later in the day you may find basic stir‑fried vegetables and chicken. If you care about freshness, head to the buffet right after you notice staff swapping metal pans.

Drinks run to tea, bottled water, canned soft drinks, and usually a coffee machine. Alcohol, if available at all, tends to be minimal and local; don’t bank on a strong wine list or imported spirits before a long flight out of T2. If that matters, grab a beer or mixer from a terminal shop near your gate instead.

Wi‑Fi relies on the standard Beijing Capital airport login, which typically needs a Chinese phone number or a passport scan at a terminal kiosk. Plan 5–10 minutes to get connected if it’s your first time at PEK. Speeds are usually fine for email and messaging, but heavy VPN use before a 3–4 hour flight may feel hit-or-miss.

For a smoother visit, hit the restrooms in the lounge 15–20 minutes before boarding starts; T2 public facilities near the domestic gates can back up badly around the 18:00–20:00 departure wave.
