SSP Upper Crust

Gate-side sandwich stop with predictable UK-style baguettes

SSP Upper Crust at Oslo Airport sits airside in Terminal T and works like the same takeaway sandwich brand you see all over the UK and Europe. You walk up to the counter, pick from pre-made baguettes in the chilled case, and pay at the single register; there’s usually only a couple of people in line outside of the 06:00–09:00 rush. Expect typical fillings like ham and cheese, chicken, and tuna, plus filter coffee and soft drinks.

Pricing skews standard for Norway airport food: a baguette often runs in the NOK 80–110 range, and a coffee or soft drink sits around NOK 30–40. Portion sizes match other Upper Crust outlets in Europe, so one baguette is usually enough for a light meal before a short SAS or Norwegian hop within Scandinavia. If you want something more substantial than a snack but don’t want a sit-down meal, this fills that gap.

Quality is exactly what you’d expect from a big SSP chain: bread is decent but not bakery-fresh, and fillings lean on mayo and pre-cooked meats. You’re paying for speed more than culinary fireworks. Look for sandwiches with visible salad or tomato if you want a bit of freshness, and skip anything that looks like it has been sitting too long in the cooler; staff usually rotate stock through the morning and early afternoon.

There’s minimal seating around the counter itself, just a few stools within sight of nearby gates in T, so plan to take your food back to your gate area. Service moves quickly, and you can usually be in and out in under 5–7 minutes even when there are three or four people ahead of you. Tip: grab your baguette and drink here, then use the main concourse seating with power outlets near the larger SAS departure boards to eat and charge before boarding.
