Sushi Sushi sits airside in T1 at Gold Coast Airport, near the domestic gates around Gate 4. It’s a quick counter setup, so think grab-and-go rolls and packs rather than a sit-down meal. You’re through security already, so it works for both Jetstar and Virgin Australia departures from this main terminal area.

Pricing runs in typical airport territory: expect individual rolls to sit around the AUD $4–$6 mark at most Sushi Sushi outlets, with combo boxes climbing higher into the teens. You’ll see the usual suspects in the cabinet: salmon and avocado, tuna, chicken teriyaki, crispy chicken and vegetarian options, plus mixed packs with 6–10 pieces.

Food here is all pre-made and displayed in chilled cabinets, so you can be in and out in under 5 minutes if your boarding pass shows a tight window, say a 30–40 minute connection. It works for a light meal before a 1–2 hour hop to Sydney or Melbourne, or as a top-up snack before a longer flight via another hub.

Drinks are basic but useful: bottled water, soft drinks and sometimes small juices share fridge space with the sushi packs. Expect standard airport pricing, usually a couple of dollars more than a supermarket for a 600ml drink. There’s no alcohol service here, so pair your salmon rolls with a Coke, not a beer.

Watch out for timing: stock can thin out in the late evening after about 19:00, especially on busy school holiday days when Gold Coast departures spike. Earlier in the day, say from mid-morning to mid-afternoon, you’ll usually see more variety in the cabinet and fresher turnover.

Tip: grab your sushi first, then hunt for a seat closer to your exact gate in T1 so you’re within sight of the boarding queue while you eat.
