Heinemann Tax & Duty Free sits airside in T1’s international zone, right after passport control and security, and it’s the only true duty-free option for outbound international flights at Gold Coast Airport. Hours track international departures, so if flights run, the shop generally stays open, but don’t count on late-night browsing if you’re on the very last bank.

This is a full retail setup at $$$ pricing, not a bargain bin. You’ll see the usual duty-free mix: 1L spirits multi-buys, cartons of cigarettes, cosmetics counters, and racks of Toblerone-sized chocolate bars. Spirits can undercut Australian high-street prices by a noticeable margin, especially on 1L bottles of whisky, gin, and vodka, but some fragrance and skincare lines sit close to CBD department store sales pricing.

Because it’s post-security in T1, you buy here and carry everything onto your international flight, including liquor up to your destination’s duty-free allowance. Staff can seal bottles in tamper-evident bags for connections, but if you have another screening point ahead (for example, transiting through a stricter hub), double-check that your 100 ml liquid rules and local allowances line up before dropping $80–$120 on a litre of spirits.

Chocolate, snacks, and small souvenir gifts line the central aisles, with regular 2-for deals on big-brand blocks and multi-pack lollies. Perfume and cosmetics counters skew to mainstream labels more than niche houses, so expect brands like Dior and Estée Lauder rather than small independents. Tech is minimal: a few headphones, travel adaptors, and cables, usually at airport markups.

Quick tip: check the price per litre or per 100 ml on the shelf labels before you tap; not every “special” beats a Chemist Warehouse or Dan Murphy’s back in town, and you only have T1’s opening window around your flight to fix buyer’s remorse.
