Oversized udon bowls here run pricier than the usual airport noodles

TsuruTonTan Udon Noodle Brasserie in T1 is the splurge noodle stop at Chubu Centrair, with big, photogenic bowls that look built for Instagram and a sit-down setup. It sits airside in Terminal 1, so this is a good call if you want table service before a flight out of NGO. Expect prices a notch above standard airport udon stands, squarely in the $$ range, but with more premium toppings and large portions.

Figure on spending around ¥1,200–¥1,800 for most udon bowls, with extras pushing you closer to ¥2,000 if you start adding tempura or side dishes. The menu leans into TsuruTonTan’s signature oversized bowls, closer to what you’d see at their city branches than a food court counter. Portions are generous enough that one bowl can easily carry you through a 3–5 hour flight window without needing snacks.

Order one of the house specialty udon options rather than the absolute cheapest bowl; online reviews mention better value in the richer broths and more elaborate toppings. The thicker noodles hold up well, even if you’re eating quickly 30 minutes before boarding. If you’re short on time, skip extra sides and just go for a single main bowl so the kitchen can turn it around faster.

Watch out for: prices here run higher than downtown TsuruTonTan locations in Nagoya or Osaka, and reviews flag occasional waits around dinner, especially between 18:00 and 20:00. If you land planning a “last Japanese meal” before a late flight, budget at least 45 minutes from getting seated to paying, more if the restaurant looks full.

One practical move: check your gate in T1, then sit on the side of the restaurant facing your concourse so you can keep an eye on the departure screens while you work through that giant bowl.
