Curry customisation right before departure in T1

In Terminal T1 airside, Curry House CoCo Ichibanya is the “last curry stop” before you leave Japan, especially if someone in your group is picky. It runs like a standard CoCo branch: pick rice size in grams, choose spice level (from mild to level 10) and add toppings like pork cutlet, cheese, vegetables or sausage. Prices stay in the budget range, roughly ¥800–¥1,300 for most plates, which is low for a sit-down spot inside Centrair.

This T1 location keeps typical airport hours, opening from morning through late evening to catch most departures and layovers. Seating is basic counter-and-table style, so this is a quick sit-down rather than a linger-for-hours kind of place. The menu sticks to familiar CoCo staples: pork katsu curry, chicken cutlet curry, hamburger steak curry and a couple of seafood options, plus soft drinks and simple desserts under ¥500.

Order the standard pork katsu curry at a mid-level spice (3 or 4) if you want the same profile locals know from city branches; that’s what many reviews reference when they say it “tastes exactly like in town.” If you’re spice-averse, stay at level 1 and keep toppings simple, since extra fried items can push the plate over ¥1,300 quickly. Kids’ curry sets stay on the mild side and come in smaller portions, helpful before a long-haul flight.

Watch out for short queues during evening bank departures in T1 around 18:00–20:00; several reviews mention a wait of 10–20 minutes for a table and food running a bit slower than downtown shops. Airport pricing also runs a touch higher than Nagoya city locations, usually by ¥50–¥150 per dish. If your connection is under 45 minutes, this is tight; pick something faster from the food court instead.

Practical tip: decide spice level and toppings while you’re still in the gate area and check the menu board photos near the entrance, so you can order in under a minute and keep total time in the restaurant to around 25–30 minutes.
