One seat gets you from NCE to Monaco in about 50 minutes
The Zou Coach Monaco Express runs nonstop between Nice-Côte d'Azur Airport and Monaco in roughly 45–60 minutes depending on traffic. It operates from both Terminal 1 and Terminal 2, so you avoid detours into central Nice or changes at Nice-Ville station with bags. This is an intercity coach, not a city bus, so expect direct airport-to-Monaco routing instead of multiple local stops along the Promenade.
Coaches pick up outside Terminals 1 and 2, following signs for coaches and intercity buses; you do not need to re-enter security, as everything is landside. Service typically runs from early morning into the evening, covering most flight banks into NCE. Check the exact timetable for your date, but daytime frequencies commonly sit around every 30–60 minutes, with gaps at night and mid-day.
A one-way ticket on the Monaco Express usually costs less than a taxi from NCE to Monaco by a wide margin, and you pay per person rather than per vehicle. Expect a fare in the mid-teens to low-twenties in euros, versus €90–€120 for a taxi on the same route. You can often buy tickets at airport kiosks, from a staffed counter near the coach bays, or online in advance through the regional Zou network.
The coach uses standard highway routes via the A8 between Nice and Monaco, so travel time depends heavily on rush hour, especially between 08:00–10:00 and 16:30–19:00. Figure 45 minutes in light traffic and up to an hour when the A8 backs up near the Monaco exits. Seats are regular intercity coach seats, not lie-flat or business-class style, but you get luggage space under the bus for full-size suitcases.
If you land at Terminal 2 on a Schengen flight before 18:00, budget about 20–30 minutes for bags and immigration, then another 10 minutes to walk landside and find the coach stand. For late arrivals after 21:00, check the last departure time carefully; missing the final coach often forces you into a high-meter taxi or a mix of tram, train, and local bus. One practical tip: if your conference in Monaco finishes around 17:00, grab the coach within the next hour to avoid the worst A8 traffic heading back toward Nice.
