Main Public Parking

Short-Term

Two-minute walk from Terminals A–C, but spaces fill fast

Main Public Parking at NAS sits directly in front of Terminals A, B, and C, about a 2-minute walk from check-in. It’s a ground-level short-term lot, so no shuttle, no elevators, just cross the access road and you’re at the doors. Flyers on forums talk about cars being “about 100 feet” from baggage claim, which matches how compact the terminal frontage feels here.

This is officially short-term parking, best for drop-offs, same-day trips, and pickups under 24 hours. All stalls are in the main front lots; there’s no big overflow garage tucked behind the airport. The same area also serves the on-airport rental car centers, so you’ll see rental rows and public parking rows side by side across from the terminal frontage.

Peak demand is real: during Christmas and Easter, airport Facebook advisories have warned that all parking facilities at Lynden Pindling International can reach capacity, with drivers circling multiple rows in the front lots. Locals report “no parking” on busy Saturdays, meaning every marked space taken and cars queuing in the aisles waiting for someone to leave. In cruise changeover weekends, add at least 60 minutes padding if you insist on parking on site.

Regular NAS users try to avoid parking here on Saturday–Sunday when cruise ships turn over, or on Bahamian and US holiday mornings. Many resort guests on 3–7 day stays skip parking entirely and use hotel shuttles or taxis from Cable Beach or Paradise Island instead, saying the stress of hunting for a space beats any savings on a short vacation.

Tip: If you’re flying at a peak time and must park, drop passengers and bags at Departures first, then send one driver to circle the Main Public Parking lots; agree on a 10–15 minute buffer before check-in closes at your airline counter.
