Most Tour Coach riders at NAP are cruise or package guests

Tour Coach at Naples International Airport (NAP) mainly serves passengers who already bought a cruise or Amalfi/Sorrento package that includes a seat on a pre-booked coach, not people shopping for transport after landing. Coaches usually line up outside Terminal 1 arrivals, in the coach bays beyond the regular taxi queue and Alibus stop. If nothing in your paperwork mentions a bus meeting you at NAP, you almost certainly are not on one of these coaches.

Pickup normally happens 30–60 minutes after scheduled landing to give time for passport control and baggage claim in Terminal 1. Tour reps often hold signs with cruise line or tour operator names in the arrivals hall near the main exit doors. If your voucher lists a specific meeting time like 11:30 or 14:00, plan your airport routine around that slot instead of wandering off to the food court on Level 1.

These coaches run on fixed itineraries to places like Sorrento, Positano, Amalfi, Salerno, or cruise ports such as Naples Molo Beverello and sometimes Civitavecchia on longer transfers. A direct coach to Sorrento typically takes 60–75 minutes from Terminal 1, longer in July–August traffic. Once you board, you usually do not pay the driver; costs sit inside your overall tour or cruise fare, so asking for a ticket price on the spot will confuse everyone.

Boarding often uses assigned buses by ship or hotel name rather than open seating across all coaches. Groups might be split into multiple 50–55 seat vehicles if a ship has several hundred guests landing into NAP on the same morning. Luggage usually goes in the under-floor hold; tag your bags with cabin or hotel details before you leave baggage claim so porters at the final stop can sort them quickly.

There is no real walk-up option for these coaches, unlike the Alibus that runs every 20–30 minutes from Terminal 1 to Naples Centrale. If you land early and miss your listed coach slot, your operator may move you to a later departure, but the driver alone cannot guarantee it. In a true miss with no backup coach, you will be buying a taxi or Circumvesuviana/rail ticket to catch up to your group in Sorrento or at the port.

  • Practical tip: As soon as you reach arrivals at Terminal 1, find your tour desk or rep before taking out cash, coffee, or SIM cards so you do not miss a single announced boarding call.
