Café Misterio sits landside in T1, before security.
This is a small coffee spot in Carrasco’s Terminal 1 public hall, open lunes a viernes and domingo from 10:00 to 18:00, and closed sábados. It’s on the landside side of the terminal, so you can use it while waiting for check-in to open or when meeting arrivals. If you’re tight on time and still need to clear security and passport control, don’t plan a long sit-down here.
Price tier is marked as $, so expect basic café pricing rather than restaurant bills. Think a coffee and pastry coming in well under what you’d pay airside at bigger chains. With the limited 10:00–18:00 schedule, this works better for late-morning and afternoon flights; anyone on early-morning departures out of MVD will find it closed.
Café Misterio lists itself as a café · coffee spot, so plan on espresso drinks, simple pastries, and light snacks if available, not full hot meals. Since it’s before security, it’s a decent option for people being dropped off at the airport who want a quick cortado and something small before check-in opens. There’s no late-night or evening service past 18:00, even on busy Sunday departures.
Watch out for the fact that it’s not post-security: once you pass immigration and security for international flights, you can’t come back out to grab a coffee here without re-clearing. If you like to arrive 2–3 hours early, time your visit so you still keep a buffer for the security lines that can form at MVD during the 15:00–18:00 bank of departures.
Tip: if your ride drops you off more than 3 hours before an evening flight, grab a drink at Café Misterio around 16:00, then head through security by 17:00 to avoid cutting it close at the gates in T1.
