3–5 minute walk to Terminal 1 check-in from P5
P5 Parkhaus sits directly opposite Munich Airport Terminal 1, so you walk to the departure hall in roughly 3–5 minutes under cover the whole way. It’s a multi-storey garage, not an open lot, so your car stays under a roof during Bavaria’s winter snow and summer hail. If your flight leaves from Terminal 1, this is one of the shortest walks you’ll get without using valet.
Parking at P5 runs on standard Munich Airport tariffs, with prices changing by duration and season, and you pull a ticket at the barrier or use pre-booking through the airport system. Stays of a few hours are possible, but P5 really targets short trips of 1–5 days from Terminal 1. Height limits apply because it’s a garage, so double-check your vehicle’s height against the posted clearance before you drive in, especially with roof boxes.
Access is straightforward: you reach P5 via the signed Terminal 1 access road, follow the "P5 Parkhaus" signs, then choose any free space on one of the upper or lower levels. Lifts link every floor to pedestrian exits that lead directly toward Terminal 1 modules A–D in a few minutes. If you’re meeting someone, you can also walk from P5 to the central area between Terminal 1 and 2 in about 8–10 minutes.
Security patrols, cameras, and lighting operate around the clock, with the garage open 24/7 to match the airport’s early-morning and late-night departures. You get pay machines on the ground level and near the exits, taking cards and cash in euros. Tip: if you have a very early flight, aim to park on a lower floor close to a lift, pay at the machine before walking back to your car, and you’ll be at Terminal 1 check-in in under 10 minutes from turning off the ignition.
