Gate-side tequila bar before security in Terminal B

Tequila Patron sits pre-security in Terminal B at Monterrey International (MTY), so it works for anyone getting dropped off early or waiting on a delayed flight. It runs daily from 06:00 to 22:00, catching both morning departures to Mexico City and late-night returns from Cancun. Expect a solid Mexican bar setup at a mid-range $$ price point, not a quick grab-and-go stand.

This is a full bar with a tequila focus, not just a beer fridge. You’ll see Patron and other agave bottles lined up, plus Mexican beers like Modelo and Tecate. Cocktails land mostly in the MXN 150–250 range depending on size and tequila level. It’s fine for a single margarita before heading through security, but a full round for four adds up quickly.

Food is straight Mexican bar fare: think tacos, quesadillas, nachos, and botanas built to match a tequila list. Portions on shared plates run large enough for two, so one order of nachos or wings can easily fill a couple of people killing 45 minutes before check-in. Hot dishes usually arrive in under 15–20 minutes, so it works on a modest schedule as long as you buffer time for security.

Because Tequila Patron is outside the B security checkpoint, you’re mixed in with non-flyers and airport staff, not just passengers. It’s a reasonable option for saying goodbye over a drink if someone isn’t traveling, or for those waiting on arriving family from an evening flight like Volaris Y4 727. Just remember you still need to queue for security in B and walk to gates in Concourse B afterward.

Tip: plan to close your tab and head for security at least 45 minutes before boarding for domestic flights out of Terminal B; add extra time if your gate posts a bus transfer or if you’re checking bags earlier in the day.
