Gate-side burgers in Terminal A

Five minutes from most A-gates, Burger King in Terminal A is the predictable move if you just want something fast and familiar before a VivaAerobus or Aeroméxico flight. It’s airside, so you’re already past security, and you can usually see your gate boards from the line. Expect basic plastic seating and trays hauled off quickly during the morning and evening bank.

Menu is the global standard: Whopper, chicken sandwiches, fries, and soft-serve cones, plus the usual breakfast line-up until around 11:00. Combos sit in the mid-priced bracket for MTY, cheaper than full-service spots but more than a taco stand in town; think fast-food pricing with airport markup. Portions match what you’d get at a city Burger King, so a standard combo is enough to carry you through a 2–3 hour hop to Mexico City or Houston.

Service speed tends to track the departure waves from gates A1–A12: slower in the 06:00–08:00 and 18:00–20:00 rush, quicker outside those peaks. Lines of 8–10 people can still move in under 10 minutes when all registers are staffed, but mid-afternoon you might see only one till open. Card payments are the norm; pesos cash works, but double-check change because staff flip between USD amounts and MXN on the screen.

Healthier or special-diet options are thin here: you’ll mostly be choosing between burgers, fried chicken, and fries, with a couple of salads that use the same chicken patties as the sandwiches. Kids’ meals with toys help on family trips, and fountain drinks with free refills are handy if you’re waiting out a 45-minute delay at nearby gates. For a tight connection, mobile ordering isn’t standard, so budget at least 15 minutes from joining the queue to walking back to your gate.
