6-inch subs under 150 MXN near the A gates

By Terminal A standards at MTY, Subway is the predictable, quick option when you just want something familiar before a VivaAerobus or Aeroméxico flight. It sits airside in Terminal A, so you clear security first, then you’ll see it along the main concourse before the A-gate cluster. Think standard US-style Subway menu, adjusted with a few local sauces and fillings.

Hours vary with traffic, but flyers report it generally opens by around 6:00 and stays open into late evening bank times for the last A-terminal departures. Expect the usual build-your-own routine: 15 cm (6-inch) or 30 cm (footlong) subs, basic salads, cookies, and fountain drinks. Prices run lower than many sit‑down spots in MTY; plan roughly 120–150 MXN for a 6-inch combo with drink and chips.

Bread choices follow the global template: Italian, whole wheat, and at least one seeded option, all baked on-site in the small oven behind the counter. Chicken teriyaki, ham, turkey, tuna, and veggie subs all show up on the overhead boards in pesos, with periodic promos on specific 15 cm sandwiches. If you prefer something lighter before a 2–3 hour domestic leg, ask for extra lettuce and skip the cheese and sauces; they’ll weigh nothing in your carry-on or your stomach.

Lines here spike around the common MTY morning wave between 6:30–8:30 and again roughly 18:00–20:00, especially when multiple A-gate departures board at once. Service is assembly-line fast, but a five-person queue can still cost you 10 minutes. Seating is limited, so many passengers carry subs back to gates A1–A8 and camp near the power outlets.

Tip: If your layover is under 45 minutes, order a 15 cm cold sandwich and skip toasting; it shaves a couple of minutes when they’re backed up and still beats boarding hungry.
