One long-distance coach links MRS to Nîmes, Montpellier, Béziers, Narbonne, Toulouse, and Bordeaux

This intercity bus route called “Nîmes – Montpellier – Béziers – Narbonne – Toulouse – Bordeaux” runs from Marseille Provence Airport and heads west across southern France, stopping at multiple cities along the A9/A61/A62 corridor. It’s the only single-seat public transport option from MRS that reaches all six of these cities without a train change at Marseille Saint-Charles.

The coach usually departs from the bus station in front of Terminal 1, the main terminal at Marseille Provence Airport, so you walk out of T1 Arrivals, follow signs for “Gare Routière,” and look for the platform with your city listed: Nîmes, Montpellier, Béziers, Narbonne, Toulouse, or Bordeaux. If you land at Terminal 2, you add a 5–10 minute walk to reach the same bus area at T1.

Timetables and fares aren’t fixed here in the brief; schedules and prices change by season and operator, so assume only that this is a long-distance coach and not a high-frequency airport shuttle. Before you commit, pull up the exact day you’re traveling on the operator’s site or an app and compare options for Nîmes, Montpellier, Béziers, Narbonne, Toulouse, or Bordeaux against a train via Marseille Saint-Charles.

Expect typical long-haul coach kit: numbered seats, overhead racks, and at least one underfloor luggage bay for larger bags on runs toward Toulouse and Bordeaux. Seats are usually assigned by booking, and drivers tend to close check-in a few minutes before the listed departure time from the Terminal 1 bus station, especially on legs toward Nîmes or Montpellier when they’re filling up.

If your flight into Terminal 1 is tight, build a buffer of at least one scheduled bus departure, because missing this coach toward Narbonne, Toulouse, or Bordeaux can leave you sitting for hours. Final tip: buy your ticket online as soon as you lock flights, then re-check the platform and time on the airport screens when you walk out of T1 Arrivals so you’re standing at the right stand when the bus pulls in.
