The direct airport bus to Aix-en-Provence runs from Marseille Provence Airport (MRS) and drops you at the main bus station in Aix, about 10 km north of the terminals. Services use the official airport coach stands outside T1 arrivals, so you don’t need to leave the airport grounds or change vehicles. Expect a motorway run most of the way with no intermediate stops once you leave the airport area.
Buses depart from the forecourt in front of T1 Hall A; look for signage mentioning Aix-en-Provence and the coach bays numbered in the single digits. Tickets usually cost less than a taxi ride into Aix, and you can generally buy them at the airport ticket counter or from the driver in euros. The ride typically tracks close to 25–35 minutes depending on A7 traffic between MRS and Aix.
Services normally operate from early morning to late evening, aligned with the bigger flight banks at T1 and T2, but you should check the day’s timetable before you fly. Some days see tighter spacing in the morning and late afternoon peaks, then thinner service around midday and after 21:00. If you land after 23:00, assume reduced options and have a backup like a prebooked taxi into Aix, which can run 40–60 minutes by road when traffic is light.
The Aix-en-Provence end of the line is usually the Gare Routière (bus station) a few hundred meters from the old town. From there you can walk 5–15 minutes to most central hotels or connect to local buses. If you’re carrying a checked-size suitcase, plan on using the station elevators and ramps rather than stairs; the layout there is simple but still involves at least one level change between the platforms and street level.
