Restricted staff parking sits behind Terminal A at MPM
Staff Parking at Maputo International Airport is a restricted lot set up for airport employees, airline crew, and authorised vehicles serving Terminals A and B. Access typically depends on staff ID or pre-approved vehicle registration; casual travellers in rental cars or private vehicles usually get turned away at the gate. If you’re not on an authorised list, plan on using public passenger parking instead.
The lot sits on the airport perimeter road behind Terminal A, a short internal walk for employees reporting to both Terminal A and Terminal B. Marked staff-only signs and control barriers make it clear this area is not for general public use. Security staff monitor entry and may check ID or permits during each shift change.
Because Staff Parking is dedicated to employees, pricing and payment are normally handled through internal airport or airline arrangements, not day tickets at a pay-on-foot machine. Spaces are allocated with staff turnover patterns in mind, so public drop-and-go or long-stay use would disrupt operations for flights leaving from Terminals A and B.
Staff Parking is monitored as part of the airport’s secure zone, with vehicle checks at the access point and regular patrols along the fence line near Terminal A. That setup focuses on operational security, not passenger convenience features like covered walkways, trolley stacks, or card kiosks you see in public parking areas at MPM.
Practical tip: if you’re flying from Maputo on any airline using Terminals A or B, skip Staff Parking and follow airport signs to the public passenger car park at the main terminal entrance instead.
