Pressbyrån

Gate-side coffee and snacks by security in Terminal 1

Pressbyrån sits airside in Terminal 1 at Malmö Sturup, just past security, so you can grab something on the way to gates 1–7 without doubling back. It’s the standard Swedish kiosk setup: self-serve coffee machines, coolers of drinks, racks of candy and chips, plus basic toiletries and travel bits. Prices run higher than in town, but in line with Swedish airport norms — expect around 30–40 SEK for coffee and 25–35 SEK for a soft drink.

Opening hours at Pressbyrån track the flight schedule in Terminal 1, so it’s usually running from early morning departures through the final evening flights. You’ll find quick breakfast items like kanelbulle and prepacked sandwiches, plus hot dogs if you need something more filling before a short hop on SAS or Ryanair. Card payment is standard here, and contactless works fine — useful if you’re only passing through Sweden and don’t want to pull cash.

Food is all grab-and-go, with sandwiches, wraps, salads, and yoghurt cups stacked in fridges near the counter, and most items come with printed “bäst före” dates so you can check freshness. Hot dogs and baked goods turn fastest during the morning and late-afternoon bank of flights, roughly 06:00–09:00 and 15:00–18:00, so that’s when turnover is best. If you want something simple but warm, the classic korv with bread is usually the safest bet versus the older-looking prepacked pastries.

For a short layover at Malmö, Pressbyrån is your quickest option to grab snacks and drinks without leaving Terminal 1 security. Stock up on bottled water here if you’re continuing on low-cost carriers that charge onboard; a 50 cl bottle is still cheaper on the ground than in the cabin. Tip: hit Pressbyrån immediately after security, then head straight to your gate — lines build 20–30 minutes before the morning and evening waves of departures.
