Terminal 1’s Europcar desk sits just past arrivals at MMX

Europcar at Malmö Sturup Airport runs out of Terminal 1, a small single-terminal setup where you walk from baggage claim to the counter in under 2 minutes. The desk is in the public arrivals area, so you can sort paperwork while someone else waits at belt 1 or 2. This is a standard city-fleet station, not an off-airport lot, so pick-up and drop-off use the signed rental car parking right outside the terminal entrance.

Hours here typically track flight banks, with staff present around SAS and Ryanair waves into Terminal 1 rather than true 24/7 coverage. If you land on the last inbound of the night, expect the counter to close soon after the bags from that flight hit the carousel. Malmö Airport is about 30 km from central Malmö, and a basic compact usually prices lower than taking multiple taxi rides over a couple of days.

Car pick-up uses the marked Europcar spaces in the rental car zone by the main terminal road, less than 200 meters from the arrivals door. Fuel stations sit along route 108 and the E65 toward Malmö, so you can top up within 10–15 minutes of the airport. Inspect for winter tyre fitment between November and March, and take photos of mileage and any scuffs before leaving the lot.

Returns follow the same rental car parking signs toward Terminal 1; allow an extra 10–15 minutes before your flight to walk back to check-in. Keep your printed or digital rental agreement handy, as staff may be busy turning around cars between SAS departures. Tip: if you have an early morning flight, ask at pick-up about key-drop so you can leave the car before the counter opens.
