T1’s Liverpool Duty Free sits on the main departures corridor
Right in Terminal T1 after security, Liverpool Duty Free is the big department-store style shop you pass before many international gates. Think standard duty free: liquor, perfume, cosmetics, chocolates, some fashion and accessories, all under the Liverpool brand that locals know from downtown Mexico City.
Alcohol pricing usually beats downtown by a few percent, especially on 1L bottles of tequila and mezcal. Cigarettes and cigars sit in the same section, with multi-carton deals flagged in pesos and USD. If you’re connecting through T1, factor in at least 10 extra minutes to walk the shelves and then re-pack your liquids for security at your next stop.
Fragrance counters run heavy on international labels plus Mexican staples like Ágatha Ruiz de la Prada and others in that price band. Staff often push 2-for deals on 50 ml and 100 ml bottles. If you’re comparing against US airports, assume prices land roughly 5–15% lower, but skip items that aren’t clearly tagged in both MXN and USD.
Electronics and accessories show up near the back of the store with basic headphones, power banks, cables and travel adapters. Expect mid-range pricing: not as cheap as Amazon, but similar to other duty free shops in Latin America. Snacks and boxed chocolates sit close to the cashier, useful if you still need a last-minute gift for a flight leaving from T1’s international wing.
Practical tip: if you want liquor over 100 ml and have a US-bound connection, ask for it sealed in a STEB duty free bag and keep the receipt handy for secondary screenings.
