Relay

T4

Gate-side at T4, Relay is your last-minute stash spot

Just past security in Terminal T4, Relay sits on the domestic side as a quick grab stop before Jetstar and Rex departures. It’s the standard airport newsagency setup: magazines, books, tech accessories, and travel snacks stacked tight. If you’ve cleared security with 20 minutes to boarding, this is the kind of in-and-out stop that still works.

Relay in T4 runs from early morning through late evening to catch the first and last domestic waves. You’ll see the usual glossy mags and paperbacks near the front, with phone chargers, power banks, and cables hanging on the side racks. Expect airport pricing: chips and confectionery a couple of dollars over supermarket levels, and branded cables easily above $25 AUD.

The drinks fridges in this T4 Relay carry bottled water, soft drinks, and a few energy drinks, plus grab-and-go sweets and mints by the counter. Coffee isn’t the focus here; save that for a café nearby and use Relay for sealed snacks to throw in your bag. If you need a pen, notebook, or basic stationery for work on the flight, this is usually the only spot in immediate range.

Digital odds and ends are the other reason to duck in: SIM card starter packs sometimes sit behind the counter, along with basic headphones suited to a quick Rex hop or a Jetstar red-eye. Don’t expect deep choice on brands or models; if you’re picky about audio gear, buy earlier in Melbourne CBD instead.

Tip: if your T4 gate is in the higher 40s, stop at Relay before you walk down the long pier, as options thin out closer to the far-end gates.
