Ground floor of the Moxy hotel, not in Terminal 1 or 2
The “Moxy Lounge” at Lyon Saint-Exupéry is the lobby bar and hangout space of the Moxy hotel by the airport railway station, not an airside lounge in Terminal 1 or 2. It sits landside, a few minutes’ walk from the Rhône Express/tram platforms and the main station concourse, so think pre- or post-flight drinks, not boarding-pass-only lounge.
The bar runs off the hotel’s ground floor reception, with seating spread around long tables, low sofas, and plug-in spots along the walls. You’re paying normal hotel bar prices, not lounge day-pass rates: expect beer in the €6–€8 range and mixed drinks above €10. There’s no turnstile, no membership check; anyone walking in from the station side can sit down and order.
Food is simple and skewed to bar snacks and light bites available in the evening rather than full restaurant service at lunch. Think burgers, pizzas, and fries at typical mid-range hotel prices, usually around €12–€18 for something filling. Breakfast in the same space targets hotel guests, so it’s not a substitute for a Priority Pass spread before an early Ryanair or easyJet departure in Terminal 2.
The opening pattern tracks hotel demand, with the bar typically active from late afternoon into the night, often past 23:00, depending on the day. That timing makes it more useful for a nightcap after a late arrival into LYS than for killing time before a 07:15 departure. If you’ve got an early train at Lyon Saint-Exupéry station, it works as a place to sit for a drink while watching the clock.
Moxy Lyon sits by the airport station, a short shuttle or 10–15 minute walk from the terminal complex, so you need to add that transfer time into any plan. It’s not realistic for a 45-minute layover between Schengen and non-Schengen flights in Terminal 1. Treat it as an option if you’re overnighting at the hotel or arriving at least 2–3 hours before check-in opens.
Practical tip: if you just want a drink and Wi‑Fi between the Rhône Express and your flight, grab a seat near a power outlet in the bar, set a firm alarm for your terminal transfer, and aim to be back at Terminal 1 or 2 security at least 75 minutes before departure.
