Right outside Terminal 2, this is LUN’s short-stay lot
Main Car Park T2 sits directly in front of Terminal 2 at Kenneth Kaunda International Airport, so you walk from your car to check-in in roughly 2–4 minutes. It’s set up as a short-stay option, best for pick-ups, drop-offs, and same-day trips out of T2 rather than long holidays.
This is a surface car park with clearly marked bays serving Terminal 2 only, not Terminal 1. You enter off the main airport access road for T2, pass the security checkpoint, and then follow signs for “Main Car Park T2.” Because it’s outside security, you still need to budget time for check-in and screening after you park.
Payment here typically runs on an hourly and daily rate, with the short-stay pricing structured to make quick stops of under 1–3 hours viable for meeting arriving flights. There are pay machines near the pedestrian exit toward Terminal 2, so you can pay before walking the 2–4 minutes back to your car instead of fumbling for cash at the barrier.
Lighting covers the main drive lanes and most rows at night, and airport security patrols this area along with the rest of the T2 frontage. Because this is the primary short-stay area for Terminal 2, it fills up first during morning bank departures, especially around 05:00–08:00, when several regional flights go out.
If you’re doing a quick pick-up at Terminal 2 and expect the passenger to be ready, aim for Main Car Park T2 rather than circulating at the curb; park, pay for one hour, and use the 2–4 minute walk to the arrivals hall instead of risking a curbside move-on from security.
