100–150 meters from Terminal 1, this is LUN’s domestic lot
Car Park T1 sits directly in front of Terminal 1 at Kenneth Kaunda International Airport, an easy 2–3 minute walk to the domestic check-in area. It is the default short- and medium-stay option for domestic flights, and you stay landside, so no security checkpoints between your car and the terminal doors.
This is an open-air surface car park with marked bays, serving only Terminal 1’s domestic operations, while international flights use Terminal 2 next door. If you arrive by main airport access road, follow the Terminal 1 signs, then the "Car Park T1" boards at the final roundabout to avoid being pulled toward T2 parking.
Pricing runs on an hourly and daily basis, with the first hour typically the cheapest band and higher charges kicking in after 3–4 hours. For a quick drop-off or pickup under 60 minutes, Car Park T1 usually works out cheaper than circling at the curb, and you avoid any tow risk from stopping too long at the terminal frontage.
Security is basic but present, with uniformed guards at the entrance to Terminal 1 and vehicle movement watched from the main access gates. Lighting runs on tall poles around the car park perimeter, which helps if your domestic arrival into LUN is after 20:00 and you are walking back to your car in the dark.
Car Park T1 works best if your flight departs or lands at Terminal 1 and your stop is under 24 hours. If you plan to leave a vehicle for more than one night or are connecting between Terminal 1 and Terminal 2, compare the daily rate here with the longer-stay options by T2 before your trip.
Practical tip: aim to arrive at Car Park T1 at least 90 minutes before a domestic departure from Terminal 1 to leave time for parking, walking in, and check-in queues.
