Gift Shop Bolivia

Near gate 3 in Terminal 1, Gift Shop Bolivia is your last-minute Bolivian merch stop.

This small shop sits airside in Terminal 1 at El Alto International Airport, a few minutes’ walk from gates 2–4. It focuses on Bolivia-branded souvenirs: fridge magnets under 20 BOB, alpaca keychains, small woven bags, and flag patches. Stock skews touristy rather than artisan, but it fills gaps if you forgot to buy something in La Paz.

You’ll see shelves of basic alpaca-style scarves and hats, usually under 120 BOB, plus postcards of La Paz and Lake Titicaca. Expect generic chocolate bars and some Bolivian coffee packs rather than big-name duty-free bottles. Payment typically runs through cards and bolivianos; carry some small notes because change for larger bills can be slow at night flights after 22:00.

The shop’s footprint is tight, so with a full 30-minute boarding window, you can still pop in and be back at gate 3 or 4 without stress. Prices run higher than Sagárnaga Street markets in central La Paz, often by 30–40%, but the tradeoff is zero bargaining and everything in one spot. Quality is hit-or-miss, so check stitching on textiles and zippers before you walk out.

Practical move: if you want specific sizes in sweaters or ponchos, go in before the late-evening departure bank around 23:00; smaller sizes tend to disappear first on long-haul nights.
