Gate-side books and snacks in Terminal 1

Press and Books sits airside in Terminal 1 at KRK, just past security and before most Schengen gates. It’s one of the few spots in the terminal where you can grab both reading material and last‑minute snacks in a single stop. You’ll see it along the main passenger flow toward the B and C gates, so you don’t need to detour far from boarding areas.

Hours usually track with flight banks, roughly first departures to last evening flights, so expect it open from around 5:00 to 22:00, though late‑night closures can happen on quiet days. This shop leans heavily on magazines, paperbacks and newspapers, including English‑language titles alongside Polish press. Prices run higher than city shops, but still in typical airport territory for magazines and books.

Besides print, Press and Books carries basic travel bits: bottled drinks, packaged sweets, crisps, gum, plus simple tech accessories like charging cables and headphones, all within the same compact floor space. Expect standard brand snacks you’ll also see in other European airports, not much in the way of fresh food. If you want a real meal, head to the main food outlets closer to the central departures seating instead.

No big gotchas here: staff usually move people through quickly, and the store layout is straightforward with magazines on wall racks and snacks near the counter. Stock can thin out on early‑morning bank departures, especially on foreign newspapers. Tip: if you care about a specific title for the flight, swing by right after security rather than waiting until boarding time.
