Laniakea by Centerplate

Restaurant

Main Open · Restaurant open daily 6:00 a.m.- 10:30 p.m.; Bar open daily 11:00 a.m. – 10:30 p.m.

Gate area side of KOA’s Main Terminal, you’ll see Laniakea by Centerplate before most other food options.

The restaurant sits in the Main Terminal after check-in and runs long hours for Kona: the kitchen opens at 6:00 a.m. and goes until 10:30 p.m., so it catches both first bank departures and late arrivals. The separate bar starts pouring at 11:00 a.m. and closes with the restaurant at 10:30 p.m.. This is one of the few full-service sit-down spots in the airport, so build in at least 30–40 minutes if you want a real meal instead of a grab-and-go snack.

Menu details shift, but expect standard airport restaurant pricing: mains typically land in the low-to-mid $20s, with soft drinks in the $4–$6 range and beer/cocktails higher. You’ll find familiar bar food and simple plates aimed at keeping things moving for people catching flights out of KOA’s open-air gates. If you just need something quick before boarding from the Main Terminal, stick to simpler items that come out fast, like burgers or salads, instead of anything that sounds fussy.

Service pace varies with the departure banks, especially around the 8–10 a.m. and 6–9 p.m. waves, when multiple flights board from the same cluster of gates. If you see a long line at the host stand or bar, assume a 20-minute wait and consider grabbing a seat at the bar rather than a table. Tip: check your gate assignment first, then sit on the side of the dining room that faces your gate so you can watch boarding progress without stress.
