Gate area flower run: fresh leis in the Main Terminal
Cho’s Leis & Flowers sits in the Main Terminal at Ellison Onizuka Kona International Airport, past the main check-in area and security, and runs daily from 10:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. It’s one of the few spots in KOA focused only on flowers, so this is the place for a last-minute lei before you meet friends or family curbside.
Expect pre-made orchid and plumeria leis hanging on display, plus simple flower arrangements built for easy carry-on through the open-air gates at KOA. Stock and pricing shift with what’s fresh and seasonal on the island, but typical single-strand leis at similar Kona stands run in the mid-teens to low-twenties in dollars, with more elaborate styles going higher.
- Terminal: Main Terminal, post-security
- Hours: Daily, 10:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. (don’t count on an early-morning pickup)
- Type: Flower shop specializing in leis
Shop here if you forgot to grab a lei in town or don’t want to juggle flowers on the drive to KOA. Selection shrinks toward the 5:00 p.m. closing time, especially on busy departure days, so aim for earlier in the afternoon if you care about color and style choices.
Practical tip: if you’re landing late and need leis, this shop will be closed after 5:00 p.m., so plan a stop at a Kona flower stand or supermarket on the way into town instead.
