China Post

T1

Near T1 central concourse, China Post is your mailing stop

China Post in Terminal T1 sits in the main departures concourse, handy if you realize at the last minute that a package or postcard still needs to go out. It’s post-security, so you can handle shipping after check-in and security rather than juggling boxes at the curb. Look for the familiar green China Post signage along the retail strip, usually near other service counters rather than food outlets.

Hours at this T1 branch generally track daytime bank-style times, roughly morning to early evening, so don’t count on it for midnight departures. You can usually buy standard postcards and envelopes on-site, saving a second errand. Basic domestic letters and small parcels run at normal China Post rates, so it’s cheaper than stuffing overweight souvenirs into your checked bag and paying airline fees at Kunming Changshui.

Staff focus on standard China Post services: domestic and international mail, small parcels, and document mailing, all right inside T1 instead of in the city. Bring addresses written clearly in both English and Chinese if possible, especially for international items, as that speeds the transaction at the counter. Expect to pay in RMB; card acceptance can vary, so having at least ¥50 cash makes life easier.

One practical tip: sort and pack your items in your hotel, and walk into China Post with everything sealed, labeled, and weighed in your head. That shortens your stop at the T1 counter and gets you back to your gate with less stress.
