Tech Stop

Gate-side electronics stop in KEF Terminal 1

Tech Stop sits airside in Terminal 1 at Keflavik, handy if your charging cable dies right before an overnight flight. Expect the usual airport mix of travel adapters, USB-C and Lightning cables, power banks, headphones, and smaller gadgets pitched at carry-on size. Prices skew higher than Reykjavik city shops, but still reasonable compared with other European hubs.

The shop mainly targets last‑minute needs: phone accessories, memory cards for that Blue Lagoon photo dump, and simple travel electronics like compact Bluetooth speakers. Stock changes, but you’ll reliably find branded charging blocks and multi-country plug adapters that work across the EU, UK, and US. If your airline still uses wired IFE, look for cheap 3.5mm earbuds near the counter instead of paying onboard.

Most flights at KEF bank in waves, so Tech Stop gets busy 45–60 minutes before big departures to the US and mainland Europe. Staff usually move quickly with card payments, and contactless works for foreign cards in ISK with no issue. Figure on 5–10 minutes in and out unless there’s a rush from a just-landed narrowbody gate nearby.

Watch your receipt: VAT is included in the sticker price, and smaller items like basic cables often run around 2,000–3,500 ISK, while power banks sit higher. If you only need to top up, skip shopping and grab an inexpensive cable, then use the seating-area outlets near your gate instead of waiting for the limited sockets inside the store.
