Down jackets here cost less than in most US shops

66° North sits airside in Terminal 1 at Keflavík, on the main retail strip after passport control. It’s the Icelandic outerwear brand you see all over Reykjavík: thick parkas, rain shells, fleeces, and beanies built for real wind and sleet. Sizes run from XS to XXL, and you’ll see both men’s and women’s lines on the same racks, so it’s easy to compare cuts quickly before your boarding time shows a gate.

Most jackets land in the 40,000–80,000 ISK range, with lighter shells and mid-layers starting closer to 20,000 ISK. Accessories like hats and gloves sit near the entrance, typically under 10,000 ISK, which makes them an easy last-minute buy before a 5–6 hour transatlantic overnight. Prices are tagged in ISK, but staff happily quote EUR and USD, and card tap works fine with foreign banks.

The store keeps roughly the same hours as Terminal 1’s main departures area, opening early for the 6:00–8:00 morning wave and staying open through the late-night US departures. That helps if your Reykjavík city shopping got cut short by a 3–4 hour Blue Lagoon detour and you still want a recognizable Icelandic brand piece. Everything here is post-security, so you won’t need to budget extra time for passport lines.

Practical tip: try on your heaviest coat here, then wear it onto the plane to save 1–2 kg of checked baggage weight and keep your suitcase easier to close at the KEF check-in counters.
