Gifts & souvenirs

1

Gate-side in Terminal 1, House of Iceland is souvenir central.

House of Iceland sits airside in KEF Terminal 1, right in the main international departures area, so you’ll probably walk past it on the way to gates D and C. It’s a straight-up gifts and souvenirs shop: magnets with puffins, Iceland map mugs, Reykjavik skyline shot glasses, and the usual logo hoodies and beanies. Prices skew higher than downtown Laugavegur shops, but that’s standard airport markup in Keflavik.

This spot focuses on Iceland-branded gear and small gift items rather than serious outdoor kit, so think under-10,000 ISK momentos, not 60,000 ISK technical jackets. Shelves are packed with stuffed puffins, keychains, coasters, enamel pins, and Icelandic flag items that fit easily into a personal item. You’ll also see some mid-range knitwear and scarves with “Iceland” stitched or printed on them, more fashion than heritage wool.

Most of the smaller souvenirs land in the 1,000–3,000 ISK range, with hoodies and sweatshirts running closer to 8,000–12,000 ISK. That’s good enough for last-minute gifts if you skipped shopping in Reykjavik or Akureyri and now have a 45-minute wait before boarding. Packaging is travel-friendly: lots of flat items and soft toys that compress into a carry-on without hitting your 8 kg cabin weight limit too hard.

No major complaints surface in reviews, and there’s no standout “only here” item, so treat it as a solid backup for generic Iceland keepsakes. If you’re short on time, set a 10-minute timer, head straight for the magnets and small textiles, pay at the single main register, and still make it to a Schengen gate in under 5 minutes.
