Leisure Lounge Keflavik

KEF Terminal 1’s only tour-operator lounge sits airside as “Leisure Lounge Keflavik,” completely separate from the Icelandair Saga Lounge you see in most reviews.

You’ll only get in here with tour-operator access; there’s no Priority Pass, no walk-up cash rate, and no airline status access as of 2026. It’s past security in Terminal 1, so you need to clear passport control and be on an international departure before you can even look for the door.

Signage in KEF still points most premium travelers upstairs to the Icelandair Saga Lounge near the D-gates, which means Leisure Lounge Keflavik usually sees a narrower crowd tied to specific package holidays. If your documents say “Leisure Lounge,” you’re not going to Saga, and staff at the main information desk in Terminal 1 can confirm which entrance applies to your ticket.

Expect a basic package of cold snacks, soft drinks, tea, and filter coffee rather than a full hot buffet; KEF airport restaurants downstairs routinely charge around 2,000–3,000 ISK for a simple sandwich, so even light lounge food still saves you that spend. Alcohol offerings, if included on your tour ticket, usually cap out at simple beer and wine rather than cocktails.

Seating typically follows the standard KEF pattern: rows of armchairs, some two-top tables, and a few power outlets grouped along the walls. KEF’s public departure hall in Terminal 1 often runs short on seats during the 06:00–09:00 bank of flights, so even a small, basic lounge can mean you actually sit down with your bag next to you instead of standing near gate C or D.

Figure on leaving the lounge 25–30 minutes before boarding if your flight goes from gates D or E, since walking from the central lounge cluster to the far end of those piers can easily chew up 10–12 minutes. For Schengen flights using the C-gates, the walk is shorter, but queues at passport control can still spike past 10 minutes when multiple departures hit at once.

One tip: check your tour paperwork at least 24 hours before departure; if “Leisure Lounge Keflavik” is listed, plan your airport time around using it, because you won’t be able to swap that access for Icelandair Saga Lounge or any other KEF option at the door.
