Arrival Lounge Keflavik

Landside showers at KEF are the whole point of Arrival Lounge Keflavik

This small setup sits landside at Keflavik International Airport, in Terminal 1, aimed squarely at arrivals who want a shower before hitting Route 41 toward Reykjavík. It’s one of the only landside lounge-style options at KEF, which otherwise focuses almost entirely on departures and the Icelandair Saga Lounge airside.

You’ll find Arrival Lounge Keflavik on the public side after exiting customs, so you do not need a boarding pass or to clear security to use it. That location works well if you land at 06:00 on an overnight from North America and won’t check into a Reykjavík hotel until 14:00 or later.

The main feature here is showers, with proper enclosed stalls instead of the tiny combined toilet-shower rooms you see in some European airports. If you’ve just stepped off a 6-hour red-eye from BOS or JFK and then face a 45-minute Flybus ride into town, a quick reset here can be worth more than another coffee.

Because KEF officially has only Terminal 1, there’s no terminal-to-terminal transfer time to worry about; everyone funnels out through the same arrivals hall. That makes this lounge a simple option if you’re meeting someone landing on a later flight and want a place to freshen up in the same building instead of sitting by the baggage carousels for an hour.

Pricing isn’t well-published online, but similar European arrivals setups run in the €25–€40 range for a shower-and-short-stay package, so budget that much per person until KEF operators publish clearer numbers. Factor it into your math versus paying 2.500–3.000 ISK for coffee and snacks in the main arrivals area plus an early check-in fee at your hotel.

Because almost every online review of KEF fixates on the Icelandair Saga Lounge airside, you won’t find much user chatter about Arrival Lounge Keflavik on FlyerTalk or Reddit. Treat it as a functional utility: get in, shower, charge your phone on 230V Schuko sockets, maybe sort your SIM or eSIM, and head out to the BSÍ bus terminal or your rental car pickup.

Tip: if you land during the early bank of US arrivals around 06:00–08:00, head straight here after clearing customs before stopping at the ATMs or Duty Free; shower queues are shortest in the first 15–20 minutes after each wave of flights.
