Il Maestro

T1

Gate-side in T1, Il Maestro sits just past security

Il Maestro sits in Terminal 1 at Santorini International Airport (JTR), in the main departures area after security. It’s one of the few spots in T1 where you can grab both souvenirs and last‑minute travel basics without backtracking toward check-in. If you’re already at the gates, it’s a short walk from the central seating area rather than a detour.

The shop stocks standard airport gifts plus Greek-focused items, with shelves of local-style products alongside international brands. Expect the usual mix of packaged snacks, small travel accessories, and logo items, all priced at typical holiday-airport levels rather than downtown Santorini. You pay a premium versus Fira, but it saves a taxi ride for that extra box of treats.

Il Maestro opens daily in line with T1 departures, so it’s usually operating from the first morning flights through the last evening departures. Because JTR is a single-terminal airport coded as T1, you won’t need to move terminals to reach it. Figure 5–10 minutes from check-in through security on a quiet shoulder-season afternoon, more in July–August, then you’re right by the shop.

Use Il Maestro as your backup plan for gifts or snacks if your hotel checkout was rushed. Prices run higher than in town, so limit big-volume buys to one or two items per person and skip anything bulky that will crowd the overhead bins. Tip: walk the shop once before grabbing a basket; similar souvenirs often sit two or three shelves apart at slightly different prices.
