Gate-side snacks by T1 departures security at JTR

Caldera sits in Terminal T1’s airside departures area, a few minutes’ walk from the main security checkpoint at Santorini International Airport. It’s a small food and beverage stop, so think quick bites and drinks rather than a long sit-down meal. You’ll see it after passport control, before you hit most of the boarding gates.

The menu leans on standard airport café basics: coffee, soft drinks, bottled water, and packaged snacks at typical European island-airport prices. Expect to pay several euros for a coffee or soft drink and more for anything alcoholic. There’s usually enough counter space to stand and eat, but seating is limited, especially during July–August peak morning departures.

Food options are simple: pre-made sandwiches, pastries, and sweets that work for a 20–30 minute wait at the gate. Don’t bank on full hot meals here; if you want something more substantial, eat in town or at another larger spot before security in T1. For a fast grab, pick up a sandwich and drink together to avoid queuing twice.

Service speed varies with the flight banks; lines spike when multiple UK and EU flights leave within the same 60–90 minute window. Staff flip customers quickly, but prep time and payment still slow down when two or three aircraft are boarding. Plan to arrive at Caldera at least 30 minutes before your boarding time if you want food plus coffee.

Practical tip: check your gate on the JTR screens first, then stop at Caldera on the way so you’re not backtracking across T1 with a hot drink and a boarding call already flashing.
