Bonheur

Gate-side at T1, Bonheur sits just past security at JTR

Right after security in Terminal 1 at Santorini (JTR), Bonheur is one of the few sit-down options before you hit the tight gate area. It runs through most of the day in line with the island’s flight banks, so you’ll usually find it open from early-morning departures through late-evening charters. Seating is limited, and in high summer the small dining area fills quickly, so expect a short wait if you land in the 10:00–14:00 rush window.

Menu pricing runs on the higher side for Greece, closer to typical airport levels than Fira tavernas. A coffee sits around €4–5, soft drinks about €3–4, and simple snacks like pastries or sandwiches tend to land in the €6–9 range. Hot plates and more substantial dishes can creep into the low teens in euros, which is standard for a captive airport restaurant on a tourist island. You pay partly for not having to wrestle with takeaway near the crowded gates.

Food leans toward straightforward Mediterranean and café staples: Greek salad, a few pasta options, basic grilled meats, and pastry cases with croissants and sweets. If you just want something quick, a sandwich and a bottled water usually land under €12 total. Expect reheated prep rather than made-from-scratch cooking, but portions are decent by airport standards. If your flight out of T1 is delayed, this is one of the few places where you can sit at a real table and stretch a meal over an extra 45 minutes.

Service timing tracks with how many flights are on the board; during peak departures, orders can take 20–30 minutes to land on your table. Staff switch between table service and bar counter orders, so flag someone down if you’re tight on time. One tip: check your boarding time and ask directly how long food will take before you sit, especially if your gate is called within the next 40 minutes.
