The space is big by Indian domestic standards, with seating spreading across multiple sections above the main food court, but crowding is the recurring theme in reviews. TripAdvisor swings from “Huge lounge with all facilities” to “Worst lounge experience,” and BoardingArea’s Grab a Mile calls it outright “overcrowded,” especially during the 6:00–9:00 and 20:00–23:00 banks.

Food layout runs buffet-style along one side, with typical Indian lounge dishes like dal, rice, a couple of hot curries, and basic breakfast items rotating through the day. Soft drinks, tea, and coffee are complimentary; don’t count on premium coffee machines working perfectly during rushes, and you won’t find a staffed bar with cocktails in the domestic section. Portions are self-serve, so you can do a quick plate and leave if the place feels packed.

Cleanliness is where reviews get harsh: multiple flyers mention dirty plates piling up on tables and floors during peak hours, with staff struggling to clear faster than new guests arrive. Several posts on TripAdvisor and Grab a Mile point out sticky dining tables and trash near the buffet when the lounge is full, so if you walk in around a 200-passenger bank from IndiGo or Air India, scan for a freshly wiped table before you sit.

Most regulars treat Encalm here as a backup, not a goal. The BoardingArea review mentions simply bailing for the main terminal food court if the entry line snakes past the lift, since you’re already near the regular restaurants on the same level. With 24/7 hours, some use it mainly during awkward late-night departures after 23:00, when landside options in T1 thin out and a basic seat plus Wi‑Fi beats sitting at the gate.

Practical tip: Walk up to Level E, check the door queue and a quick glance inside; if you see a long line plus every seat taken, eat in the food court first and only tap your card at Encalm if you still have 45+ minutes until boarding.
