Air India business passengers at HYD now get sent to Encalm

Recent reports from 2025 say Air India premium cabin flyers departing Hyderabad for cities like Delhi are handed Encalm Lounge passes on the domestic side of T1, with no separate check-in for an Air India Maharaja Lounge. If you’re booked in Air India business from HYD, expect your lounge access to be processed as a contract-lounge visit, not into a clearly branded AI space.

On the domestic level in T1, Encalm sits after security, while any “Maharaja” branding at HYD doesn’t show up in fresh trip reports or terminal maps from 2024–2025. One blogger flying AI business HYD–DEL in early 2025 only mentions entering Encalm’s domestic lounge and never sees a dedicated Air India door or signage along the way. Plan your time around the main contract lounge footprint rather than hunting for a separate AI lounge entrance.

If your boarding pass lists Air India business or you hold status tied to Air India’s lounge program, staff at HYD usually print or code access for Encalm in T1’s domestic area, near the other airline-contract spaces. In practice that means shared seating, shared buffet, and shared restrooms with passengers from several carriers, instead of a small, airline-specific Maharaja room. Any separate Air India-branded lounge, if it still exists at all at HYD, receives so little traffic that regular flyers and review sites haven’t logged visits in at least one to two years.

Grab a Mile’s 2025 review of Encalm at Hyderabad, written after a HYD–DEL business class flight on AI, describes the lounge as crowded with cleanliness issues during peak departures, while still being the only space offered to Air India’s premium guests that evening. That same review lists Encalm as “located on the domestic side of the terminal,” again with zero mention of a Maharaja Lounge or alternate premium check-in path. Expect a standard contract-lounge experience rather than a tailored brand environment.

With this setup, the smart move at HYD T1 is simple: at check-in or the gate for your Air India domestic flight, ask staff directly, “Is lounge access today via Encalm, and where is the entrance?” and budget a clear 10–15 extra minutes to find and enter the contract lounge rather than losing time walking the terminal looking for a separate Maharaja-branded door that most recent flyers never see.
