5 airlines 5 restaurants 2 lounges 3 shops

Terminal 2 hosts 5 airlines. You'll find 5 dining options, 2 lounges, 3 shops here.

Domestic flights mostly run out of Hurghada’s smaller Terminal 2

Terminal 2 at HRG handles EgyptAir, Nile Air, Air Cairo and a chunk of Eastern European charter traffic from carriers like Sundair and Eurowings. It’s physically smaller than Terminal 1 and focused on Egyptian domestic routes, so walking distances are short and gate numbers are limited. Check your boarding pass carefully; some EgyptAir domestic runs still show only “HRG” without clearly printing “T2.”

Check-in in Terminal 2 usually starts about 2 hours before domestic departures with EgyptAir, Nile Air or Air Cairo, and desks close roughly 45 minutes before take-off. Security sits just past the check-in hall, and queues tend to move faster than in T1 simply because fewer international flights leave from here. Keep your printed itinerary handy; staff often check paper documents again at the entrance to the security area.

Once you clear security in T2, you get a compact departures area with a single main concourse and a small cluster of gates. You won’t walk more than 5–7 minutes from security to the furthest domestic gate. Seating fills quickly during morning and late-evening EgyptAir banks, so grab a seat near your assigned gate number as soon as it appears on the monitors.

Food options in Terminal 2 lean basic but workable: Express Cafe, Barista Cafe, Sandwich Corner, a Pastry Shop and a Juice Bar sit airside after security. Coffee at Barista Cafe and Express Cafe costs more than in town, with prices that can run 30–50% higher than downtown Hurghada. Sandwich Corner is the more practical stop if you want something you can eat at the gate without cutlery.

The Pastry Shop in T2 usually has packaged cakes and croissants that keep well for a short domestic hop to Cairo or Luxor, while the Juice Bar sells made-to-order fruit juices. Expect to pay tourist-resort pricing for fresh juice; think hotel-bar rates rather than local market numbers. If you’re price-sensitive, eat before arriving at the airport and treat these stands as backup only.

Shopping is stripped down to basics in Terminal 2: one Souvenir Shop, a Mini Market and an Electronics Shop, all after security in the departure hall. The Mini Market carries bottled water, chips and soft drinks at marked-up prices compared with Hurghada city supermarkets. The Electronics Shop leans on travel chargers, headphones and power banks, handy if you forgot an adapter for the two-prong Egyptian sockets.

Lounge options in T2 are the Pearl Lounge and a generic VIP Lounge, both signposted after security in the departures area. Access rules vary by airline and fare; some charter passengers on Eurowings or Sundair buy access at the door, while certain EgyptAir premium tickets may include entry. Expect typical regional lounge basics: soft drinks, coffee, light snacks and Wi‑Fi, not long-haul premium dining.

Arrivals into Terminal 2 are straightforward: domestic baggage claim sits just past passport control for those coming from Upper Egypt or other Egyptian cities, and car pick-up is through a single landside exit. Taxis and pre-booked transfers know the difference between T1 and T2, but app drivers sometimes default to T1, so share “Terminal 2 domestic” in your ride notes. If you need to move between terminals, allow about 10–15 minutes by foot or shuttle, depending on your luggage and traffic outside.

One practical tip: bring a charged power bank, because Terminal 2 has limited accessible outlets near the gates and they fill up fast during evening domestic banks with EgyptAir and Air Cairo.
