Employee Parking Lot

Staff parking

Not for passengers: the HNL Employee Parking Lot is staff-only

The Employee Parking Lot at Daniel K. Inouye International Airport in Honolulu is set up for airport staff, not for Terminal 1, 2, or 3 passengers. The official HNL parking page lists structures and lots for the public but does not list this employee lot with any day rate or public access details.

On the same state-run parking site that shows clear daily rates for the International Parking Garage and the Terminal 2 garage, there is no posted price or section for the Employee Parking Lot. That gap is the tell: the lot is managed through internal permits and badges rather than casual drive-up parking for travelers flying out of HNL.

Because the Employee Parking Lot is not listed with the standard hourly and daily rates shown for public garages next to Terminal 1 and Terminal 2, you should plan on using those public structures instead. Expect to park in the International Parking Garage or one of the terminal garages and then walk 5–10 minutes to check-in, depending on your airline and gate assignment.

The airport also publishes real-time public parking availability for the main HNL garages, but nothing similar appears for the Employee Parking Lot. That usually means access is controlled at the gate with ID cards or decals, not with a ticket machine you can pull from as a visitor driving up for a flight.

Practical tip: ignore any map label that says “Employee Parking” and follow signs for the International Parking Garage or Terminal parking instead; if a lot gate says “employees only,” you will be turned around and lose time getting back to the main structures.
