Level II EV charging sits in the International Parking Garage

Electric Vehicle Parking at HNL lives in the International Parking Garage, with Level II chargers on the ground level and EV spaces on levels 1, 5, 6, 7, and 8. Daily parking runs $24, same as regular garage rates, and you’re next to the terminal with about a 5‑minute walk to check-in for Terminals 1, 2, or 3.

Charging runs on a time-of-day rate: $0.44 per kWh from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and $0.57 per kWh from 5 p.m. to 9 a.m. The main cluster is on the makai side of the ground level, with around 20 Level II chargers in one section of the International Parking Structure. If you just need to top up before pickup, you can pull in, plug in, and still pay the same $24 daily cap if you leave the car longer.

There is a clear idling rule: once your battery is full, the airport adds a $0.25 fee every 15 minutes you stay plugged in. That adds up fast if you’re gone for a full day or more. Regulars treat these stations like true turnover chargers, not long-term trickle spots, and plan their flights so the car finishes charging close to landing time.

Practical tip: only take a Level II charger if you can get back to the garage soon after your car reaches 100%, or move to a regular space on levels 5, 6, 7, or 8 once you’re done charging to avoid that $0.25 per 15‑minute idle hit.
