Setagaya

After 9 p.m. in T3, Setagaya is still serving ramen.

This is one of the few sit-down spots in Haneda T3 still doing proper hot meals late in the evening, which is why it draws the post-21:00 arrivals. It sits airside in Terminal 3, in the main restaurant zone, and stays open into the later evening while several neighbors roll down their shutters. Figure mid-$$ pricing for ramen here: more than in central Tokyo, less than a hotel restaurant upstairs.

Menu is focused on ramen bowls with a few sides, and the standard Setagaya shoyu ramen is the safest move if you’re tired and don’t want to overthink it. Multiple reviewers call that bowl “solid” rather than spectacular, but importantly “not airport-level bad at all.” Portions are generous enough that a regular-sized bowl should keep you full through a 6–8 hour overnight flight without needing a second meal on board.

Bowls run higher than you’d pay at a Setagaya branch in the city, which lines up with the “price is a little high for ramen, but it’s the airport” comments. Figure you’ll pay a few hundred yen more than downtown, landing squarely in the $$ bracket. If you’re on a tight budget, skip extra toppings and sides; the base shoyu bowl gives decent value and still arrives with meat, noodles, and broth in good proportion.

Quality swings a bit at peak times; one Japanese review mentions overcooked noodles and lukewarm broth during a rush. If you hit a busy bank of departures around 20:00–21:00, expect a short line and slightly slower service. If the specials board looks experimental and you’re boarding soon, stick to the regular shoyu ramen to avoid any misses when the kitchen is under pressure.

Tip: landing late into T3 and hungry, walk straight here before browsing duty free; some nearby kitchens shutter around 21:00–22:00, but Setagaya usually keeps the lights on longer.
