P3 Economy

Long-term parking

5–7 minute walk from Terminal 2, cheaper than P1/P2

P3 Economy sits just beyond the Terminal 2 short-term car parks and runs as Helsinki Airport’s lower-cost long‑term option. Walking time to Terminal 2 is about 5–7 minutes at a normal pace, and a bit longer, around 10 minutes, to Terminal 1. It’s open 24/7 and works with the same barrier and license‑plate system as the other HEL car parks, so entry and exit stay straightforward even on late arrivals after 23:00.

Pricing at P3 Economy undercuts the closer P1 and P2 long‑term areas, especially on stays over 3–4 days. You book online through Finavia’s system, pick P3 Economy, and lock in a per‑day rate that’s typically several euros cheaper than drive‑up. The car park is uncovered, so in January and February expect snow and ice on and around the spaces, but the aisles are regularly ploughed to keep rows usable.

P3 Economy serves both Terminal 1 and Terminal 2, with pedestrian routes clearly signed in Finnish, Swedish, and English. There are ticket machines and pay stations near the walkways if you didn’t pre‑book, and the barriers accept major cards including Visa and Mastercard. The layout is simple: numbered rows, multiple pedestrian exits, and posted maps at a few key points so you can see exactly how far you are from each terminal door.

For long trips of a week or more, P3 Economy usually lands in the sweet spot between cost and walking time at HEL. Take a phone photo of your row number before you head toward Terminal 1 or 2, and in winter leave an extra 5 minutes on return to clear snow off the car before driving out.
