P Transit sits right between Terminals 1 and 2
P Transit is the short-stay car park sitting between Terminal 1 and Terminal 2, so you walk straight into either terminal in a few minutes. This one is built for drop-offs, pick-ups, and quick trips, not long holidays. It’s a drive-up style lot for Helsinki Airport (HEL), so you don’t deal with shuttles or extra transfers.
This car park is officially signed as P Transit on airport approach roads and is part of the on-airport parking network at HEL. You park outdoors, close to the terminal doors, with marked short-stay bays. Because it’s on airport property between T1 and T2, it works well if you’re not sure which terminal your airline uses or your group splits across both terminals.
P Transit runs on short-stay pricing, so the rate structure makes sense for stays of a few minutes up to a couple of hours, not multi-day parking. It’s targeted at quick goodbyes, meeting arriving passengers, or same-day business trips from Terminals 1 and 2. If you expect to be gone more than a day or two, one of HEL’s long-stay car parks generally prices out better than P Transit.
There’s no dedicated shuttle for P Transit because you can walk to both Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 directly from the lot. You enter through standard barrier gates, take a ticket or use pre-booking if available, then pay at the machines or exit gate on your way out. Because it is a short-stay product, turnover is higher than in the long-stay areas, which helps find a space even at busier times.
Tip: if you’re doing a quick pick-up at Helsinki Airport and want to meet someone in the public arrivals hall, park in P Transit and agree a specific door at Terminal 1 or Terminal 2 so you both cut down the search time by a few minutes.
